Tanya Hicks acknowledges the Gubbi Gubbi (Kabi Kabi) people as the Traditional Owners of the land on which this work is created on the Sunshine Coast. I pay my respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

I recognise that sovereignty has never been ceded. These always were, and always will be, Aboriginal lands.

 

I honour the enduring strength, knowledge, and cultural practices of First Nations peoples, and acknowledge that this work exists on Country that has held wisdom, connection, and community care for tens of thousands of years.
